Our Capabilities are beyond our Limitations

Happy Monday. Hope, you all have had great time with your family and friends over weekend.

Our Capabilities are beyond our Limitations - Most of the times, we act based on fears of our past and anxiety about our future but failed to present ourselves to opportunities at our disposal. Life always presents us opportunities to grab if we are open and adaptable. Instead of being open, many of us will be in constant nagging mode of present situation which neither helps us to take control of things nor helps us to excel.

We need to make a paradigm shift on the way we see things. If we just look at work as repayment of salary then we will NOT be able to enjoy it. We will NOT be able to rejoice it. We should see the value we bring to the table, we should see the contribution to the Organization goal and we should see the contribution to society. This paradigm shift allows us to think beyond our limitations and deliver beyond expectations. We should learn to excel in solution centric approach than problem centric approach which makes work Fun instead of intimidating.

Let's learn to think beyond our limitations, Let's learn to see the work as opportunity to learn, Opportunity to grow and Opportunity to contribute to Organization and Society.

Simple for Complex

Simple is Complex. Simplicity means having clarity on thoughts, Happiness, being peace with oneself. We make life complex because of choices ( as it brings complications) and comparisons. The barrier to achieve simplicity is lack of awareness, lack of distinction between what we need and what we want because of other's perception. The moment we learn to align our thought process, get clarity on what makes us happy then we start living a life deliberate and intentional. We should learn to say NO to things that do not add value to our Life. Comparing with others on things they possess brings discontent. We can NEVER get enough of what we really do NOT want.

Life is a Game. Everyday, we meet many people. Let's learn to make their life little better after being with us. That should be result of this game - Win. We have many lives to improve, starting with our own and that of those who are close to us.

Let's learn to be Simple which in turn brings calmness to Life, peace and Joy.

Remove Given Element in array and return new length

Given an array nums and a value val, remove all instances of that value in-place and return the new length.
Do not allocate extra space for another array, you must do this by modifying the input array in-place with O(1) extra memory.
The order of elements can be changed. It doesn't matter what you leave beyond the new length.
Example:
Given list = [1, 5, 3, 2, 3], val = 2
Output should be - length = 4
Another Example:
Given list = [1, 4, 1, 12, 3, 1, 0, 3], val = 1
length = 5, list = [4, 12, 3, 0, 3]

Solution:
public int removeElement(int[] list, int val) {
    int i = 0;
    for (int j = 0; j < list.length; j++) {
        if (list[j] != val) {
            list[i] = list[j];
            i++;
        }
    }
    return i;
}

Separate Telangana - A Political Need

Being from Telangana Region, I am not able to understand the need of separate state. Things have changed a lot from Prof. JayaShankar's time. There were two reasons for separate state at that time
1) Jobs in Telangana region should be filled by people in Telangana - Addressed by 610 GO
2) People here are treated as second grade citizens. Here, we can read People in Politics. Politicians say, only 2 Yrs were ruled by CM from this region. If politicians in this regions are failed to get confidence of majority of MLAs and they think, the only way to get a chance to be CM is by dividing state into two. This is the main reason, people are disinterested in separation, they want their problems to be solved, getting basic facilities like water, electricity.

YSR Congress, Congress has to answer questions from CAG, people

Its very sad that everybody wants to own Development(if at all any) done in YS Raja Sekhar Reddy's Government and nobody talks about Corruption in that time.

Jagan has to answer questions from people how did he set up a business in just 5 years and paying Income Tax in hundreds of crores before asking for Votes/Seats. CAG reports are saying that there is lot of corruption occurred in land allotment and Jala Yagnam, is Jagan ready to accept that his Father (Maha Neta) is involved in such a shame act ?

Calling Member function using NULL pointer

To my surprise, my program did not crash when I called display() by NULL pointer, but it crashed when I tried to access member variable.

#include

#include

using namespace std;

class Test

{

public:

    int p;

   void display() {

       cout << "Test::display()" << endl;

   };

};

int main()

{

    try {

       Test *t = NULL;

       t->display();

       t->p = 5;

    } catch (exception &e) {

      cout << "Dereferencing pointer: " << e.what();

   } catch (...) {

      cout << "Unknown Exception";

   }

   return 0;

}

Story behind Sonia's Sacrifice to be a PM

Information on eligibilty to be a PM of India.

Eligibility:
Article 84 of the Constitution sets the principal qualifications one must meet to be eligible to the office of the Prime Minister. A Prime Minister must be:

- a citizen of India.

should be a member of the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha. If a person elected prime minister is neither a member of the Lok Sabha nor Rajya Sabha, then he must become a member of the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha within six months.

- of above 25 years of age (in the case of a seat in the Lok Sabha) or above 30 years of age (in the case of a seat in the Rajya Sabha).

- for an Indian citizen of foreign nationality, the principle of reciprocity is applicable i.e. the same rules as there are in that particular nation for foreign nationality.

Sonia is not indian citizen by birth, so if Italy allows a person to be a Prime Minister who is not born in Italy, then only she can be PM of India.

Many Congress party members (including MPs) say that she sacrificed, better they know our constitution and then talk.

DRS woes

India has been opposing DRS for a while now and only way to make it happen is making it compulsory for a tournament as it happened with World Cup. I agree with India (for that matter Sachin/Dhone) that DRS is not a foolproof. I watched first test between England vs Srilanka. In Second innings of Srilanka, Dilshan was given out cought behind. He went for Referral. There is nick (visible that ball kissed gloves), but hotspot failed to notice it. There is deflection, there is noise, ye hotspot did not pick it up. It brings again same debate whether we should use technology which does not give correct results all the time. Its better to use DRS on experimental base and its upto teams which want to take part in these experiments.

Jaya Ho - Team India

Team India achieved Amazing, Spectacular, Fabulous and Famous World Cup Victory. Its quite emotional when we see final scenes and it seems it has the ability to erupt memories of 2003 World Cup Final and 2007 World Cup early exit.

Its quite unusual behavior from Sanga at the toss, he could have clearly conveyed what he called at the toss but could not do and again Martic Crowe messed up things in World Cup final, he could have asked Dhoni to flip coin again immediately if he has not heard what Sanga said. Sanga messed up with toss and messed up with team selection. There are four changes in a team that won in Semis and it says how much he worried about indian batting line-up. Experts and Many people are thinking that Srilanka is better side, but the man who should believe it has doubts.

Sanga was very defending in his team selection, bowling options. He used every bowler before Murali hoping that whatever he can get from others, is a bonus. Though the batsmen in the middle are good players of spin, Murali would have an effect.

On other hand, Dhoni has shown clarity in thinking and fearless attitude once again. He was not hesitant to flip coin once again, though it looked like he won on first attempt. Dhoni has taken a brave decision by promoting himself ahead of Yuvraj, who is in form through out the tournament and it paid off. No wonder, Fortune favors the brave.

On field, Dhoni was Superior captain than Sanga and he deserves to lift the cup.Before the final, many people has put both the captains at same level, but it seems Dhoni is far better than many including Sanga when it comes to handling pressure and when it comes to play Boldly.

Team India is CWC 2011 Champions.

Happy New Year 2011

Every New Year brings new hope, new energy and sense of optimism. I wish we will have less scams, people are more responsible and accountable. They will not be greedy for 1 or 2 Rs in Public Transport [In Karnataka, we have a tradition that instead of taking a ticket of 7 Rs, People would love to give 5 Rs to Ticket Collector and travel and Ticket Collector accepts it Happily]. I pray GOD to give more patience to people to fight for legality of things, to be honest as much as possible and do not pay bribe for Driving License, Household Cards, Birth Certificates, Caste Certificates, any kind of NOC [No Objection Certificates] etc.

Wish You All Happy and Energetic New Year 2011.

Excellent Umpiring by Aleem Dar in Ashes IV Test

I have witnessed one of the best Umpiring calls on 2 nd of Ashes IV test happening in MCG. Johnson bowled a ball which just kissed Prior's Bat and catch was completed by Haddin and Umpire Aleem Dar gave out. But he had slight doubt on legality of ball, so asked Prior to stop and got confirmation from third umpire that ball is No Ball. It requires special skill to do such top class things.

Why Employees Leave Organizations

It seems people leave organizations for better pay or profile, but bigger effect could be Managers or in other words, work environment created by them. Its very strange that people look for better package once they make their mind to move on instead of looking for better place to work. Pay can be compared much easier than work place etc.

Master Blaster - Maginificient Once Again

Time and again, sachin produced a beauty. His work ethics are so good that he never bored to do same thing again and again and his grit and commitment are the best. Agreed, its a flat batting pitch, but to score heavily, one needs to have lot of patience and most importantly hunger for success and live in present. It does not matter how many centuries he scored before, again he has to start at zero and score 100 runs. The only advantage he has is mindset that he did it many times. Still that mind set may bring complacence. Thats why Having good work ethics is more important than achieving results. I have not seen any unsuccessful person so far who has wonderful approach to do any work.

Kudos to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. I wish he will play many wonderful knocks to keep cricket fans like me happy. Its very amusing to watch his game once he reaches his sublime touch or I say nonchalance state

Does Sehwag Deserve Place in Team India

I wonder whether player like Sehwag deserve a place in any Team Game. Agreed, he is only third batsman in cricket history who scored two triple centuries, but for him, team comes next to him which is against philosophy of any team game. If player's priorities override Team's preferences, he does no good for team and spreads wrong message to others also. For me, It does not matter how quickly he gets his runs, what matters is the value he gives to his wicket and how curbs his instincts for the sake of team. I like/love when he scores 200 or 300 in a day, but I can never admire him.

Love passes, but admiration endures....

Team India Upsets Billion Fans

Yet again, Cricket fans are disappointed by India's performance on field in another ICC Tournament. When you see a team, it consists of so many talented, technically sound and can hit the ball a long way players. But on field, they failed to perform and bowlers did not deliver either. As ardent fan of Indian Cricket, I can just hope, things will become better and guys gain more experience and improve their temperament to play on merit of the ball by the time World Cup 2011 starts. Hope that Sachin and Sehwag will be fit for the tourney and Make a Difference.
