KCR's Fast-Unto-Death ??

Its been 3 days now KCR's Fast Unto Death is going on and there are so many people(in fact very few extremists) supporting it. I belong to Telangana Region only, It is true that it is under developed, but does separate state solve the problem? The answer is NO. I wish this will end soon and people live at peace.

Finding Memory Leaks in Solaris

I work on Unix platform. I used to think that to find memory leaks/corruptions, we have valgrind in Linux, but there is no such tool for Solaris. While browsing, I came across many tools available for Solaris also and here I am mentioning about one of such tools which is simple and straight. dbx - is a utility for source-level debugging and execution of programs written in C++, ANSI C, Fortran 77, Fortran 95, and Java programming languages.
Here is step by step procedure to use it.
1)Here is my sample program
/* To Compile - cc prog.c */
int main()
{
void fun();
fun();
return 0;
}

void fun(void)
{
int *p;
p = (int *)malloc(sizeof(int));
return;
}

2) Compile this program
$> cc ex1.c

3) Start executable using dbx
$> dbx ./a.out

4) set memory checks option on check -memuse
(dbx) check -memuse

5) run the executable
(dbx) run

The output will be something like this,
=============================================================
Actual leaks report (actual leaks: 1 total size: 4 bytes)

Total Num of Leaked Allocation call stack
Size Blocks Block
Address
========== ====== =========== =======================================
4 1 0x8060c20 fun < main

Possible leaks report (possible leaks: 0 total size: 0 bytes)

Checking for memory use...

Blocks in use report (blocks in use: 0 total size: 0 bytes)

execution completed, exit code is 0
====================================================================
Here, actual leaks is 1 which is 4 bytes, at 0x8060c20 , reason is fun < main. So we can know that fun() has a memory leak.

dbx tells only function where memory leaks are there, but it will not give exact Line Number.

Homosex should be Legalized?

There is a debate on Delhi High Court judgement that said making gay sex among consenting adults a criminal offence violated fundamental rights. There are many people from different religions opposing this and there many people who think themselves they are modern, their thought process is based on evidence (substance) welcomed it. If people do whatever they want to do in their private places, nobody has any problem. But, if it is made Legal, it is actually giving message to others whoever wants to try. When we know that it is unnatural sex, why should it be allowed?

LS MP Slaps Bank Manager in AP

This is the rarest thing that could ever happen. Mr Manda Jagannath, MP of NagarKurnool, Congress Slapped a Rural Bank Manager in AP. When he was asked why did he slap the manager, he gave the funniest of statements I have ever heard. Video for the same can be found at http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/LS-MP-slaps-bank-manager-in-AP/videoshow/4721873.cms.

It Happens only in India

The Bandra-Worli sea-link was inaugurated on Tuesday June 30, 2009 by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. I do not understand how come a party leader can do inauguration of a public property when there were Union Ministers, CM and Dept CMs in the gathering.

In India only, Persons grow much bigger than Political Parties and I do not understand how come they are supported by majority of people.

Sleeping @ Office

Recently I come across some interesting facts about Sleeping @ Office during office hours. One of my friends told me that he had colleagues who sleep in the office that to so convincingly that nobody can notice it. Of course, I believe that Sleeping is the most beautiful and most acceptable work in the world that I hardly found anybody saying I hate sleeping. But sleeping in office premises is something tough to Digest.

Happy Times for Team India

Its been some time that Team India is in pressure to prove themselves and Finally and Hopefully they are relieved. In T20 World Cup, There were heavy expectations and of course they were proven absolutely wrong with its performance. Its been in news much before World cup, mainly because some of the T20 players did exceptionally well in IPL. But they did not do much damage in world cup and loss of Sehwag just before world cup proved costly.

Anyways, They started on winning note in ODIs against West Indies and will carry on the same in remaining series. I am true fan of Cricket and of course Team India. So I enjoy, if my team is winning and will keep quiet (moral support) otherwise.

Good Luck Team India

Happy times for DD and CSK

At half stage, it looked like 7 teams are contending for semis slot, but more or less, it seems Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings are there. For remaining two places, all other teams except KKR are competing. DD, CSK, MI and KXIP is my guess for Semi finalists

ICICI Prudential - Disastrous Experience

The experience with ICICI Prudential is very pathetic. I can rate this as the WORST THING ever did in my life so far. I had many bitter experiences before with Banks and Other Organizations, but none of them come close to this. Attitude of People involved is poor and They have very low work ethics. I wanted to make an Investment Plan and an executive met me and took Documents on Jan 10, 2009, till date Policy is not made and Response is so poor and frustrating. I guess, They are testing My Patience.I must admit that I lost in that test. It is close to 100 Days (more than 3 months now) and still do not know my Policy Status.

ICICI Prudential has very clever Complaint Launching System. When I sent a mail, I recieved electronic confirmation mail saying that Estimated Response time is 2 Days. So In 2 days, I may get an aswer or may not get an answer becuase estimation can go wrong and more importantly it is system generated mail.
If I do not get any answer, then there is no accountable person to catch, in a way, It is as good as sending no mail.

The Motive behind sharing this Information is to make you alert when starting a relationship with ICICI Prudential.

Confusion and Clarity

Clarity of thought is very Important, and that is mising in me for some time now. I am confused what I want to do and what I want to become. But slowly, I am getting clarity on what I do not want and what do I need to do for that. So just started working on things. A simple retrospection made many things clear and just want to move on with things @ hand.

Cast Your Vote

We talk about rights every day at Home, Office, for that matter any place. But we hardly talk about responsibilities. Vote is both a right and responsibility. When we cast our vote, then only we get the license to question about rights. So to get access to our rights, we need to fulfill our responsibility. Voting is a right given to us by our constitution. It gives us power to elect our representatives, govern ourselves and regulate our institutions. Every five years we get this right to vote. People usually complain that all the contestants are same, and their motive is to win in elections and earn Money. It may be true, but using our right(vote), we can re-call anybody, we can dis-qualify all the contestants, if none of them is good and we can question the representatives if they are doing something wrong. First, we do our Job ie casting our vote, then we question others if they do something wrong.

I am looking for Voting procedure for people staying outside their Assembly segments, once I know some useful information, I will share with you.

This is not in support to any political party or person. A Request to people to use simple yet powerful thing at hand.

ICICI Bitter Experience II

Associate - Customer Relations mailed me based on my blog to enquire about problems with Investment Plan. I blogged it on Monday(23rd Feb) and I got mail on Tuesday(24th Feb). She took up the case on 24th Feb and by today, she was able to find my documents, Investment Manager and cause behind its delay. I must appreciate her for doing this as I did not launch any official complaint, but at the same time, its sad that it took 10 Days to find out. I am yet to receive my cheque, so just thinking of whether I should go ahead with policy or withdraw the idea.

ICICI - Bitter Experience

I had very bitter experience with ICICI for couple of times now, and of course, on the both the occassions I did something wrong. I admit that. When everything is going fine, who will go to Bank these days. We have internet Banking, tele banking, mobile banking. If something goes wrong, then only people do go to bank and ask for the correction. If Bank is not able to rectify it or if it says it will take some time (atleast 2 months), then I don't rate that Service Average. It is poor service.

I met a ICICI prudential Sales Executive and he explained me some Investment plan. I have given him cheque without going to Bank/Prudential and filled Application Form. He told me it would take 15 Days to get processed and for recieving Documents. Its more than 40 Days now and no response from that person. Whenever I called up him, he told me that he would enquire. Finally, I decided to walk into near by Prudential Office. There the response is we cannot track just by Name/Mobile Number. I asked her, is it true that anybody can carry ICICI prudential Application forms and sell policies? She told me that No that was not the case, But We could not track on Person Name. She suggested me to stop the Cheque payment and if I wish, she can send a person to take policy.

If at all ICICI can track of variuos channels(Bank, Prudential, DSC) whom they are giving license to sell their policies, why do they that?

Cricket - On Going Schedules

India is touring Newzealand and Australia tour of South Africa are started. It will be an interesting contest between India and Newzealand. NZ plays well as a Team and does not carry any expectations but it suprised almost all with its Game. India is just playing like NZ of past, full of all-rounders, some one or other performing right through end. The Only difference is India have pool of Talented Cricketers who are working Hard for Perfection where as NZ used to have players who work hard on their Game. Talent alone does not make any player Great, its rubbish. Under a Cool Coach and Calm Captain, India is really doing great. I hope it will continue its good work and will win all three formats.

Australia must be looking for settling scores with SA, but it will not be that easy. Australia is still in transition phase and there is not much difference in its resources. One thing for sure is, Austalia must be counter attacking SA, they will be playing aggressive game. This is what they used to do whenever they were on back-foot. But then, there were batsmen of calibre Hayden, Langer, Martin and Bowlers like McGrath, Shane Warne for whom you does not need to say what to do and where to Bowl. So it will be interesting to see Australia's approach and how does SA respond. SA is doing very well at the moment, they have batsmen who can chase 400s in ODIs as well as tests and bowlers who can take 20 wickets in Tests. It will be great, if SA wins by 3 - 0.
